St. John’s University Division of Mass Communication offers a wide-range of programs of study including Communication Arts, Advertising Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Photojournalism, Digital Design, and Television and Film.

Students learn from a faculty with extensive professional experience. The Advertising Communication faculty includes an executive with 5 Clios (the highest award in creativity) and 6 Effies (the highest award in marketing) and another with multiple awards for digital advertising including 2 for digital innovation; an Emmy-winning television writer/director; a nationally recognized media graphics professional; several noted authors; an editor for The New York Times; and a producer from ABC TV News. In fact, many of our journalism faculty continue to work as editors and reporters, applying their academic and theoretical knowledge to the real world.
